Disney Channel sketch comedy series So Random! auditions and casting information

*** "So Random!" is currently on haitus ***

Disney Channel sketch comedy television series "So Random!" is currently in production and the show is casting actors with strong improv and comedy skills, as well as extras and stand-ins for the series stars. The show was formally titled "Sonny with a Chance". Casting will be ongoing through late Fall, 2011.

On April 19, 2011 Demi Lovato announced that she will not be returning to her Disney Channel series "Sonny With A Chance" because she said that she would rather focus on her singing career. Lovato had previously entered rehab on November 1, 2010 to get professional help for anorexia and bulimia, and on April 20, 2011 she announced that she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Disney Channel has been preparing for a future of the show without Lovato ever since she entered rehab.

Brian Robbins is executive producer of "So Random!". Robbins has wrote for and served as executive producer on the real-life kids sketch comedy series "All That" and "The Amanda Show" for Nickelodeon.

After Demi Lovato's departure from the show, Disney Channel executives decided the series would now focus on the sketch/comedy/music-variety show "So Random!", centering around guest stars, sketches, digital shorts, and musical performances, a similar format to Saturday Night Live.

The series brings viewers into the audience of “So Random!,” the hit comedy TV show for kids and tweens that was part of "Sonny With A Chance," where popular characters Tawni, Grady, Nico, Zora and rival Chad Dylan Cooper are joined by new repertory players in original comedy sketches.

Each episode showcases a performance by a special guest or recording artist, including Cody Simpson, Selena Gomez and The Scene, Far East Movement, Colbie Caillat, Mitchel Musso, Mindless Behavior, Coco Jones, Jacob Latimore, The Ready Set, Kicking Daisies, Greyson Chance and Tony Hawk, among others.

Sketches will introduce new comedic characters including Zombie Man, Roadkill Reba, Tantrum Girl, Jack Sparrow, MC Grammar and Bracey Girrlz. Returning will be favorites RoadKill McGill, The Real Princesses of New Jersey and Sally Jensen: Kid Lawyer.

"So Random!" is shot and aired in high-definition, and like most of Disney Channel's sitcoms, it is shot on tape, but uses a "filmized" appearance. Filmizing is a process that makes video productions appear to have been shot on film.

"So Random" will premier on June 5, 2011 on Disney Channel.
