On March 28, 2013 Disney Channel announced that the live-action comedy series "Jessie" was renewed for a third season. Now the casting director is auditioning talent for guest starring, recurring, and day player roles. The extras are cast throughout the season as needed. The series uses a multi-camera setup which is known as "filmized", a technique in which video is made to appear to have been shot on film. "Jessie" is videotaped at Hollywood Center Studios in Los Angeles, CA.
Set in bustling New York City, Jessie is a nanny for the high-profile Ross Family - 14 year-old Emma, the biological child of the bunch, 11-year-old Indian adoptee Ravi, 12-year-old American adoptee Luke and eight-year-old African adoptee Zuri. Helping her to navigate young-adulthood are Bertram, the family's beloved, yet frosty butler, and Tony, her boyfriend and the building's doorman. Season three will focus on the Ross kids beginning to navigate young adulthood while challenging their favorite nanny with new and entertaining situations.
Starring in "Jessie" is actress, singer, musician, songwriter and producer Debby Ryan playing the title role. In addition to appearing in episodes of the Disney Channel shows "Hannah Montana" and "Wizards of Waverly Place", Ryan previously was a series regular playing Bailey Pickett in "The Suite Life on Deck". Also starring in "Jessie" is Kevin Chamberlin as the grouchy and often lazy butler Bertram; Young Artist Awards winner Peyton List as the ditzy diva Emma; Young Artist Awards winner Karan Brar as the intelligent and gentle Zuri; Young Artist Awards winner Cameron Boyce as Luke; and Skai Jackson as Zuri.
Two-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Pamela Eells O'Connell is creator and executive producer of "Jessie" and also serves as showrunner. Eells was also executive producer of "The Suite Life on Deck", in which Debby Ryan was a cast member. Adam I. Lapidus also executive produces "Jessie", with Shari Tavey as producer and Debby Ryan as co-producer. It's a Laugh Productions, which is a an owned subsidiary of the Disney-ABC Television Group, is the production company behind "Jessie". Don Mink and Amy Rabins founded It's a Laugh Productions in 2004. The two have also been partners in a company called Prep Shoot Post since 1988, a post-production accounting firm.

Note: Various directors work different episodes during the season. In television shows composed of individual episodes, the television director's role differs from that of a film director in that he or she may work only on some television episodes as opposed to the director of an entire film production. In episodic television productions, the major creative control resides with a producer of the show. The television producer with creative control is called the showrunner (in this case Pamela Eells O'Connell).
